Speed Kills, So Don't Kill Your Speed

Olympic champ and world record holder Usain Bolt of Jamaica knows that speed alone won't win races. It takes preparation, holding form and learning at the precise moment to win the close ones: a balanced approach to his game.

You can't teach speed. But what if Usain Bolt didn't know the right prerace discipline, warm up routine, how to get out of the blocks quickly, hold his form throughout the race and lean at the precise time? He'd lose precious tenths of a second, and the 9.58 time in the picture could become 9.98. Speed wouldn't matter as much.

He'd never risk poor preparation for a big race, you might be thinking. But that's exactly what your company might be doing if you don't use your business system to help you boost efficiency in all phases of your game. What are we talking about specifically? Great purchasing and inventory skills won't matter if you're slow, inefficient and error prone in the order entry to collections phase of the game.
