General high-performance video Borescope Systems

General Tools & Instruments introduced new, expanded probe options for the High-Performance Wireless Recording Video Borescope System (DCS1800) and High-Performance Recording Video Borescope System (DCS1600).

BorescopeFrom building, HVACR and machinery maintenance to manufacturing and metalworking to plumbing, quality control and beyond, these advanced systems are up to the challenge. With more than 15 probe options now available for each system—including different probe types, diameters, lengths and viewing angles—the DCS1800 and DCS1600 have the versatility to handle virtually any inspection application, all at a best-in-class value.

The DCS1800 and DCS1600 save time and money by enabling the quick and precise visual inspection of inaccessible or hazardous areas of complex machinery, equipment and systems without the need for disassembly or teardown. Proper inspections with these systems can increase safety, identify potential problems before they become critical, cut equipment downtime and reduce labor. With so many probe options, these high-performance borescopes are ideal for a myriad of applications, such as:

  • examining interior surfaces of complex machined or cast parts for burrs, cavities or other imperfections
  • inspecting welds in tubing, piping, tanks and other equipment
  • detecting leaks, cracks, corrosion, blockages and deposit buildup in ducts and piping
  • reading inaccessible or hidden part or serial numbers
  • inspecting inside walls for mold, insect or rodent infestation, and wiring and piping
  • performing maintenance inspections of pumps, valves, compressors, process equipment, heating and cooling equipment, gear boxes, fabricating machines and other industrial equipment.
The new interchangeable probe options for both systems include probes in lengths from 1m (3.28 ft.) to 22m (72 ft.) and as well as soft metal and VGA resolution articulating probes, ultra-slim probes (3.9mm/0.15 in.) and switchable front/side view probes.
