Arbortech caulking blades

Arbortech introduces new caulking blades that offer combined cutting and grinding action for faster caulk removal.

Arbortech caulking bladesThese patented and uniquely shaped carbide-tipped blades are used with the AS170 brick and mortar saw to powerfully remove caulking while simultaneously grinding both sides of the expansion joint. This leaves a clean surface ready for re-caulking. It replaces traditional methods, such as the pipe knife or the single-bladed machines, both of which require cutting both sides of the caulking before grinding the sides to remove residual material. The caulking blades save time by reducing the traditional four-step process to one step. The new caulking blades make the AS170 ideal for removing caulking from between concrete panels in tilt-up constructed buildings, parking lots and anywhere that caulking is used on outside panels.

"The new caulking blades make the innovative AS170 brick and mortar saw even more versatile because it now provides contractors with the ability to remove caulk as well as cut mortar," said Henry Schweitzer, national sales manager, Arbortech USA.

The new caulking blades are available in 1/2-inch, 1-inch and 2-inch sizes to cover a range of caulk-removal projects. The 1/2-inch blades remove caulking in joints that are 5/16-inch to 1/2-inch wide, the 1-inch blades remove caulking in joints that are 1/2-inch to 1-inch wide and the 2-inch blades remove caulking in joints that are 1-inch to 2-inches wide. The caulking blades are constructed of carbide and steel for durability and longevity.

The AS170 brick and mortar saw's patented cutting technology uses a unique orbital cutting motion with two forward facing blades that combine to perform both a hammering and a cutting action that allows for the user to have clear visibility and the ability to accurately cut square and deep.
