GHX acquires Specialty Rubber & Gasket
Houston-based GHX Industrial, a subsidiary of The United Distribution Group, has acquired Specialty Rubber & Gasket of Decatur, Ala.
"Expanding our service area throughout the U.S. and Canada is an ongoing strategic focus for GHX, and the acquisition of the SR&G location compliments our already strong North American presence,” said Darrell Cole, president & CEO of The United Distribution Group.
Former owners of SR&G, Matt and Shelly Hames, will remain with the Decatur operation and stated that they are looking forward to continuing to grow the already successful GHX name in the Decatur market.
SR&G will continue to operate in its current location. Additionally, the company announced that is has secured a new 10,000-square-foot location in Decatur that will handle GHX’s and SR&G’s combined operations. GHX has begun operations at the new site and will incorporate SR&G into the site in late 2014 or early 2015.
