Wholesalers sales up 0.6 percent in August
The U.S. Census Bureau announced today that August 2013 sales of merchant wholesalers totaled $428.4 billion, up 0.6 percent from July, and 5.6 percent higher than the August 2012 level.
August sales of durable goods were up 0.9 percent from last month and up 5.4 percent from a year ago.
Total inventories of merchant wholesalers were $503.0 billion at the end of August, up 0.5 percent from the revised July level and up 2.5 percent from the August 2012 level.
