Ingersoll-Rand sales up 4 percent

Ingersoll-Rand reported third-quarter revenues increased by 4 percent to $3.74 billion, compared with $3.59 billion for the 2012 third quarter.


Total U.S. revenues were up by 5 percent compared to 2012, and revenues from international operations increased by 3 percent.

The company reported net earnings of $165.9 million, or 56 cents per share, compared with earnings of $321.6 million, or $1.03, for the 2012 third quarter.

In the Industrial Technologies segment, which makes compressed air tools, revenues in the third quarter of $722 million increased by 3 percent compared with the third quarter of 2012. Air and productivity revenues increased slightly, as volume declines in the Americas were offset by gains in Europe.
