AD names ISD winners

Affiliated Distributors announced the winners of its Industrial Supply Division 2013 Spirit of Independence awards at its recent 2013 North American Meeting.


“The competition was tough this year for the Spirit of Independence awards since so many of our Affiliates and Suppliers are the best of the best in our industry. It’s important to take the time to honor the companies who have gone above and beyond. This year’s honorees have been exceptional leaders within the AD community and make our group and industry stronger,” said Jack Templin, president of the Industrial Supply Division. 

The award winners were John Wiborg, president of Stellar Industrial, Tacoma, Wash., Affiliate of the Year, Leadership; Brady Corporation, Milwaukee, Supplier of the Year, Leadership; BlackHawk Industrial, Tulsa, Okla., Best Annual Planning Process; SECO Tools, Troy, Mich., Supplier of the Year, Marketing Excellence; Walter A. Wood Company, Chattanooga, Tenn., Affiliate of the Year, Marketing Excellence; Allied Machine & Engineering Corp., Dover, Ohio, Giving Back Award; Border States Electric Supply, Fargo, N.D., Affiliate of the Year, Performance; Walter Meier Manufacturing, La Vergne, Tenn., Supplier of the Year, Performance.

Joint awards were given to General Industrial Tool & Supply, Burbank, Calif., and Milwaukee Electric Tool, Brookfield, Wis., for Best Conversion to an AD Supplier for Tool & Supply and Material Handling; and Blackhawk Industrial, Tulsa, Okla., and SGS Tools, Munroe Falls, Ohio, Best Conversion to an AD Supplier for Metalworking.

Emily Konrad, Marketing Manager for Johnston Industrial Supply, Springfield, Mo., won the AD MVP award.
