Kaman completes Western Fluid acquisition
Kaman Corporation announced that its Distribution Segment has completed the acquisition of Western Fluid Components.
With locations in Tacoma, Kirkland, Everett and Bellingham, Western is one of the largest fluid connector distributors in the state of Washington and a full-line distributor for Parker Hannifin’s Fluid Connector Group, including hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial hose, tubing, fittings and related accessories. The acquisition of Western further strengthens Kaman’s fluid power position in the Northwest. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Founded in 1975, Western, with annual sales of approximately $11 million, also provides hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies, custom kits and value-added services through its four Parker Store retail locations and sells to a wide variety of industries such as the marine, wood products, aerospace, agriculture, mobile equipment and industrial markets.

The combination of Western with Northwest Hose & Fittings, which Kaman acquired earlier this year, and our existing presence in the Northwest affords us significant growth opportunities and synergies. Western’s high focus on customer service makes them an ideal addition to the Kaman Distribution team,” said Steven J. Smidler, president of Kaman Distribution.
Neal J. Keating, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Kaman Corporation, added, “This is our third acquisition of a Parker distributor since we formalized our relationship with Parker in late 2011, making them our primary fluid power supplier. In that short time, we have grown our Parker store network to 17. We expect to remain active in building our distribution business and acquiring well run companies like Western Fluid Components that will help differentiate us from the competition and provide value added products and services to our customers.”
