Grainger July sales gain 4%

Grainger reported sales for the month of July increased 4 percent versus July 2012.


The gain included 5 percentage points from volume, 1 percentage point from price and 1 percentage point from acquisitions, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange, 1 percentage point decline from lower sales of seasonal products and a 1 percentage point decline from the timing of the July 4th holiday in the United States. 

Sales in the United States were up by 6%, while sales in Canada declined 1% (+2% in local currency) and othere businesses declined by 2% (+3% in local currencies).
