Merchant wholesaler sales increase
May 2014 sales of merchant wholesalers were $453.2 billion, up 0.7 percent from last month, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The results represented a 6.6 percent increase from May 2013.
End-of-month inventories were $532.7 billion, up 0.5 percent from last month, and 7.9 percent higher than May 2013.
Sales of durable goods were up 0.2 percent from last month and were up 5.9 percent from a year ago.
