Atlas Copco buys Clayhill

Atlas Copco AB has purchased certain assets of St.Paul, Minn.-based distributor American Air Products Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

The acquired business operates under the name Clayhill. It has been a long-time distributor of Atlas Copco branded compressor equipment and parts in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and parts of Wisconsin.

American Air Products' operations will be incorporated in the Atlas Copco Compressors division in the USA. The Clayhill name will be used for an interim period.

"Feet on the street and maintaining the closest relationship with the customer continues to be a high priority for us," said Stephan Kuhn, business area president, Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. "This acquisition gives us the opportunity to bring some experienced sales and aftermarket people into Atlas Copco, and will allow for an even greater customer focus."

About 18 employs will join Atlas Copco as part of the acquisition.
