Chicago Fed National Activity Index increases
Led by improvements in production-related indicators, the Chicago Fed National Activity Index increased to –0.37 in May from –0.56 in April.
Two of the four broad categories of indicators that make up the index improved from April, but only the production and income category made a positive contribution to the index in May.
Employment-related indicators made a small negative contribution to the index
for the second straight month.
