GHX acquires Flowline

Houston based GHX Industrial, a wholly owned subsidiary of The United Distribution Group, acquired Flowline Components Inc. and Flowline OEM Group Inc.

Founded in 1988 by Larry Blackburn and Greg Johnston, Flowline operates two branches in Baltimore, Md., and Greencastle, Pa. and is a distributor of fabricated hose, MRO products and other related products. The executive management staff of Flowline will remain with the company after the acquisition, with Blackburn maintaining responsibility for sales, marketing and customer relations and Johnston focusing on operations and inventory management.

“Flowline concentrates on several primary areas including hydraulic and pneumatic fluid conveyance products, custom assembly, kitting solutions and vendor managed inventory,” said GHX president, Richard Harrison.

Flowline’s core customer base includes agriculture, construction and food & beverage OEMs.

“Expanding our service area throughout the U.S. and Canada is an ongoing strategic focus for GHX, and the acquisition of the Flowline locations compliments our already strong North American presence,” said Darrell Cole, president and CEO of The United Distribution Group.

GHX also recently consolidated its Mobile, Ala., and Pensacola, Fla., branches into a newly constructed, 25,000 square foot facility in Loxley, Ala. The company also opened a new 18,000 square foot state-of-the art facility on West Little York Drive in Houston, Texas.

In addition, McCarty Equipment Company, a subsidiary of GHX Industrial, recently established a location in Dickinson, N.D.

GHX now operates 40 branches in 15 states and provinces throughout the U.S. and Canada.
