IBT Industrial acquires Sheppard Supply
IBT Industrial Solutions of Merriam, Kan., acquired Sheppard Supply Co. in Springfield, Mo.
IBT purchased the inventory, customer accounts and intellectual property of the business that was founded in 1963. Much of the inventory will transition to IBT's Springfield, Mo., office. The company provides construction and industrial supplies and power transmission products to sawmills, manufacturing companies and food processors in the Springfield region.
“We’re incredibly excited about this opportunity,” said Jeff Cloud, Regional Manager for IBT. “We want to support their customer base and take care of their needs.”
Both companies are members of IDC, the Independent Distributors Cooperative.
“Any time two independent supply companies merge, it’s a good thing,” said Cloud. “It gives customers more options, and makes independents healthier and stronger to compete against ‘big box distributors.’”
