AD sales up 4%

Affiliated Distributors said that its industrial division sales grew 4% in the first quarter of 2013 on a same store basis from $1.35 billion to $1.40 billion.


Sales for all AD Affiliates, across all AD Divisions, grew by 5% in the first quarter to $6.5 billion. AD Affiliates outgrew their markets in every AD Division in the quarter, according to a prepared statement.

“There are several indicators that point to a slowing in the industrial industry at large, with many manufacturers reporting results to be sales essentially flat for the first quarter. However, the AD’s industrial division outperformed the market, an objective we strive for every quarter,” said Jack Templin, president of AD's Industrial Supply Division.

In the last three months, AD affiliates hired 1,079 new employees and opened 41 new locations
