Graybar opens Calif. service center

Graybar announced the opening of a new service center and warehouse in Pomona, Calif.

The new center spans 238,000 square feet and serves as the primary shipping facility for Graybar in the southern part of California. This service center replaces a service center located in City of Industry, Calif. The newly-constructed facility provides access to over $12 million in inventory and more than 15,000 SKUs, as well as product staging, kitting, and customizable consolidated packing service capabilities.

The facility was built to LEED green building program specifications and features many of the green technologies Graybar distributes to its customers. Graybar plans to pursue LEED certification for the facility.

“This new, state-of-the-art service center will help us better serve our California customers,” said Rich Birkett, Graybar California district vice president. “This service center has almost twice the square footage as our previous location, which will allow us to offer enhanced logistics capabilities and increased local inventory. Its convenient location provides easier freeway access for will-call orders.”
