Stanley Black & Decker sales up 7 percent

Stanley Black & Decker reported 1Q net sales were $2.6 billion, up 7% versus the prior year.


Net earnings from continuing operations were $167 million, or $1.05 per share, compared to $85 million, or 53 cents, in the same period last year.

Revenues in the Construction and Do-It-Yourself segment increased 6% to $1.2 billion. 

Industrial segment sales rose 16% to $852 million.

Net sales in Security decreased 3% to $573 million. 

“Our CDIY and Industrial businesses continue to demonstrate exceptional performance, having achieved strong organic growth driven by an improved European landscape, healthy automotive demand and our organic growth investments which positioned us for share gain in the quarter," said president and chief operating officer, James M. Loree.
