IBC adds to staff

IBC, the alliance of industrial, bearing & power transmission, electrical, and subassembly distributors, announced two appointments to the company’s operations and marketing staff.


Melody TanMelody Tan has joined IBC as client services and operations specialist, a newly developed position at the company. In her role, Tan will handle operational tasks, including operational support of the IBC University, the IBC National Meeting and other initiatives that support the internal team at IBC and its distributors and supplier members.

Tan is a recent graduate of The University of Connecticut, where she also worked full time, since 2012. In her most recent position as student supervisor, she supported office and field work at the Northeast campus. Tan was responsible for work orders, administrative tasks and supervising students in daily facility maintenance operations to ensure a safe living and working environment.

While working at The University of Connecticut, Tan received Bachelors in Economics, minoring in Sociology and also earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. 

Sam KinneySam Kinney joined IBC as the company’s new marketing coordinator. In this position, Kinney will work with Shannon Filippelli, IBC’s director of marketing, to support a range of marketing efforts for IBC’s network of independent distributors and preferred suppliers. Kinney will focus on providing strategic and tactical support for IBC’s marketing programs for buying group members.

Prior to joining IBC, Kinney was a full time marketing intern at Hubbard-Hall Inc., a manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the water treatment and surface cleaning industries. During his tenure, Kinney was responsible for managing a variety of marketing efforts, ranging from the development of email marketing campaigns and press releases to newsletter articles, and the development of print ads for publications.

Kinney received his Bachelors in Business Marketing from Wittenberg University.
