Factory orders up in February
New orders for manufactured goods increased 1.6 percent in February to $488.8 billion.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, this followed two consecutive monthly decreases.
Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.7 percent.
Shipments increased 0.9 percent to $493.5 billion. This followed a 0.7 percent January decrease.
New orders for manufactured durable goods increased 2.2 percent to $229.1 billion for February. This followed a 1.4 percent January decrease.
