Simonetta named president of Airgas East
Airgas Inc. announced that Tony Simonetta has been named president of Airgas East, reporting to Shaun Powers, Airgas Eastern Division president.
Simonetta replaces Fred Manley, who has joined the Airgas national sales leadership team as vice president - technology and services markets. Simonetta's career spans more than 20 years and nearly every functional discipline in the industry. As president of Airgas East, one of 12 regional companies that make up Airgas' distribution business, Simonetta now leads a region with more than 1,000 employees working in more than 100 locations. Headquartered in Salem, N.H., Airgas East serves customers in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and northern Virginia.
"Tony has a well-balanced knowledge of our business, due to the depth of his career experience and his familiarity with our customers," said Powers. "His skills and leadership are well-suited to further East's leading position in healthcare and research while enhancing its presence in the manufacturing markets."
