Grainger February sales up 11 percent
Grainger reported sales for the month of February increased 11 percent versus February 2010.
Results for the month included a 1 percentage point positive contribution from acquisitions and a 1 percentage point contribution from foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic sales were up 9 percent, including 2 percent from price and 7 percent from volume.
By segment, sales in the United States increased 8 percent; Canada sales were up 16 percent in local currency; all other businesses, which includes sales from the acquired business in Colombia, were up 46 precent.
