Fastenal sales up 8.6% in February
Fastenal reported that its February sales of nearly $298.2 million were up 8.6% compared to $274.5 million in 2013.
Daily sales of $14.9 million compared to daily sales of $13.3 million in February 2013.
The Winona, Minn.-based distributor said the value of the U.S. dollar lowered daily sales growth by 1.0%, primarily related to Canada. The sharp drop of investment in the oil and gas industry lowered daily sales by approximately 2.5%. Finally, harsh weather lowered sales by approximately 2.0%.
Employee headcount grew by 6.6%, to 18,954 employees as of the end of the month.
