IDC-USA sales up 30 percent

IDC-USA announced that the cooperative experienced 30 percent organic sales growth in 2010.

The distributor-owned purchasing and national marketing cooperative of independent distributors of industrial bearing, power transmission and industry related products, said the year began with the best first quarter in company history, followed by record sales for the month of April.

"With IDC only having been down four points at the height of the recession the previous year, this cooperative's growth is an excellent indicator of how skillfully owners and management used their internal resources to expand profits," according to a prepared statement.

"There are many companies that are posting recovery growth from 2009, but few are reporting the new growth we experienced over and above our pre-recession numbers," said Jack L. Bailey, IDC-USA president and CEO. "Our success can be attributed to several factors, but most importantly it is the result of hard work and commitment from IDC Distributor-Owners as well as our IDC staff. Our resilience and decision to not participate in the recession subsequently paid off for our distributor-owners and preferred suppliers. IDC-USA's success through the cooperative business model continues to prove that this model is the way forward."
