Motion Industries acquires two distributors

Motion Industries announced that it acquired Dayton Supply & Tool Company and D.P. Brown of Detroit Inc.

Dayton Supply is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and has additional Ohio locations in Cincinnati and Mount Vernon. The company distributes machine tools, abrasives and industrial supplies mainly to service manufacturers and contractors in central and southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky. The company was founded in 1936.

D.P. Brown, established in 1992, has three Michigan locations: Saginaw, Westland, and Grand Rapids, and a facility in Perrysburg, Ohio, which does business as Advanced Rubber & Plastics. D.P. Brown provides conveyor belting, idlers, bearings, pulleys and power transmission products to customers in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. T

"This strategic acquisition provides an expansion of products and service to our customers and we welcome D.P. Brown to our organization," said Bill Stevens, president and CEO of Motion Industries. "We welcome Dayton Supply & Tool Company to our Industrial Supplies Group as they join our other operations in this key business unit for our company."

The existing management teams in all of the acquired locations will remain.
