Former AD executive Mechlin is remembered
Stu Mechlin, a former senior vice president of Affiliated Distributors, passed away on Nov. 1. He was 66 years old.
Mechlin retired as a senior vice president of Affiliated Distributors in 2011. He had been employed by the Industrial Supply Division of AD for 12 years.
Following his retirement, he served on the advisory boards of several industry organizations, including Travers Tool Company, Machinery Systems Inc. and Modern Distribution Management. He was also a member of the board of directors of Alliance Distribution Partners.
A resident of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Mechlin is survived by his wife, Ellen, and two sons, Alexander and Mark.
Jack Templin, president of AD's Industrial Supply Division, recalled Mechlin's many contributions to AD in a memoriam posted on the buying and marketing group's website.
"Stu’s contributions while at AD were numerous and he set the table for much of the success we have enjoyed. He had a significant impact on not only our Suppliers and Affiliates, but also our internal staff," Templin wrote. To read the entire memoriam, click here.
