What’s the goal of your showroom? To encourage purchases. Too many times, showroom design is just a hodgepodge of merchandise organized to fit the space. The Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) has unveiled Creating an Attractive Showroom Manual, the newest book in a series of self-education books published by the Association.
Written by Greg M. Gorman, a design professional with more than 30 years of retail merchandising experience, the Manual offers a practical approach to design, whether it’s a from-the-ground-up new project or a remodel. All STAFDA members were recently mailed a complimentary copy of the new handbook. It offers members a chance to look at their own showrooms and turn them into effective selling tools.
The only true way to start a store design concept, new or remodel, is to fully understand the merchandise. After all, that’s what attracts the customer and it’s what STAFDA distributors promote and sell. Today's distributor really needs to focus on the merchandise. Today's customer is well educated with the Internet and print promotions. They know what they want when they enter a store or showroom. It's your job to sell them what they need, offer add-on impulse sales with accessories, and make the customer happy. Members may use STAFDA’s new Manual as a guide to look at showroom and branches through the eyes of their customers.
All STAFDA members received one free copy of the handbook in March with additional copies available at a nominal cost. Copies are available only to STAFDA members.
