Turtle & Hughes buys Mag-Trol
Turtle & Hughes Inc. has acquired Mag-Trol Long Beach Inc., a distributor of electrical and automation equipment, supplies and renewal parts based in Long Beach, Calif.
“The purchase of Mag-Trol allows us to extend our reach to the West Coast market with a highly regarded industrial distribution company. Mag-Trol and its management team are a perfect fit with our organization," said Jayne Millard, chief executive officer of Turtle & Hughes.
Mag-Trol's principal owner and president, James Shanahan will remain with Mag-Trol as president, with the responsibility of growing the California market for Turtle & Hughes.
In addition to its headquarters location, Mag-Tro maintains an office in Huntington Beach, Calif., that operates under the name Rhino Electric Supply. Founded in 1981, Mag-Trol provides products and services to the terminal operators in the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. It also serves industrial customers in the Healthcare, Food & Beverage, and Packaging industries along with a wide range of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the Southern California market.
Headquartered in Linden, N.J.,Turtle & Hughes is a $500 million multi-commodity procurement company with 11 branch offices nationwide serving the industrial, construction, commercial, electrical contracting, export and utility markets.
HT Capital Advisors LLC, a private investment banking firm based in New York, served as financial advisor for the transaction.
