ISA index shows slower growth

The December ISA Economic Indicator Report (EIR) from the Industrial Supply Association showed slower growth for Manufacturers and Distributors in November.

“The ISA Manufacturer Index decreased from 67.3 in October to 53.0 in November, while the ISA Distributor Index declined from 66.7 to 63.0,” said Bryon Shafer, general manager of ASG Industrial and chair of ISA’s Strategic Information Committee.

For each index, a reading above 50% indicates expansion, while a reading below 50% indicates contraction. The Indexes have been above 50% since December 2012.

“The Anticipated Business Conditions Index increased for both groups this month, indicating that ISA members are optimistic about ending the year on a strong note,” Shafer said.
