Hyde Group names Scoble president

The Hyde Group announced the promotion of Robert Scoble to president of Hyde Group Inc., effective Oct. 15.

In his new position, Scoble is responsible for Hyde Tools and Industrial Blade Solutions of Southbridge, Mass., and A. Richard Tools of Canada, all of which are owned by Hyde Group Inc.

"Rob's strong experience, insight and extensive knowledge of their markets will be instrumental as the company continues to expand and grow its industrial blade and construction tool businesses," according to a company statement.

After more than 20 years of leadership in other privately held companies, Scoble joined the Hyde Group in 2005 as vice president of sales and marketing for Hyde Tools. In 2009 he was named executive vice president, and was tapped as president of Hyde Tools in 2010. As president of the Hyde Group Inc., he will provide important executive leadership and facilitate the continued growth of all three brands throughout North America and worldwide.

Hyde Group has served the industrial, professional and consumer markets since its founding in Southbridge as the Hyde Manufacturing Company in 1875. Hyde Group grew from its early start as a shoe knife manufacturer into a leading provider of surface preparation hand tools, paint applicators and industrial knives.
