August economic growth slowed
Economic growth slowed in August according to the The Chicago Fed National Activity Index.
At −0.55 in August, the CFNA was down from +0.24 in July.
The index’s three-month moving average ticked up to –0.07 in August from –0.09 in July. August’s three-month index suggests that growth in national economic activity was slightly below its historical trend.
