Grainger August sales up 4%

Grainger said its sales for the month of August increased 4 percent versus August 2012.


The gain included 5 percentage points from volume and 1 percentage point from acquisitions, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline from lower sales of seasonal products and a 1 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange.

Sales in the United States increased by 5%, sales in Canada increased 4% in local currency, while sales to other businesses were up 5%.
