PIP to expand PRI Industries facility

Protective Industrial Products recently broke ground on a multimillion dollar expansion of its PRI Industries manufacturing facility in Chaska, Minn.


PRI expansion, Chaska, Minn.The addition will double the amount of manufacturing space and allow the installation of new equipment that has been acquired over the last year. This expansion will allow the PRI facility to support demand for domestically produced protective products.

Started in 1981 by Phil Robins, and today under the leadership of his son, Steven, PRI manufactures a comprehensive line of high-performance knit gloves and sleeves that protect workers in the automotive, aerospace, construction, food processing, and metal fabrication industries. These state-of-the-art products are manufactured with materials such as DuPont Kevlar and DSM Dyneema as well as proprietary blends, using materials such as stainless steel and carbon fibers.

With the increase in production, PIP expects to add at least 10 new positions at the PRI plant over the next few years.

“We are delighted to be adding more American manufacturing jobs to meet the safety demands of the American worker,” said PRI president Steven Robins.

The expansion and new capacities are targeted to be operational by the end of the year.

Protective Industrial Products Inc. owns three domestic manufacturing facilities that make personal protective products.
