Applied wins award
Applied Industrial Technologies has earned the Platinum Alliance Supplier award from Vulcan Materials Company for its excellent service in 2009.
This is the second consecutive year Applied has achieved Platinum status, the highest supplier ranking from Vulcan.
The award is determined by Vulcans annual Plant Managers survey on Alliance Partner performance. Plant managers and leaders from Vulcans nine divisions rate suppliers on key operations criteria that include product quality, customer service, technical support, ease of transactions, and value added. Applied has earned a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum award from Vulcan every year since 2000.
"Applied is honored once again to receive the Platinum Alliance Supplier award," said Tom Armold, vice president of Marketing and Strategic Accounts for Applied. "Our teamwork, communication, commitment, and support continue to make a difference year after year, and we view this award as a source of encouragement for further improvement."
Vulcan Materials Company, based in Birmingham, Ala., is the nation's largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of other construction materials. More than 200 Applied service centers provide Vulcan facilities with bearings, power transmission products, rubber products, specialty maintenance items, systems integration and technical assistance.
