Newcastle Systems names VP sales and marketing

Newcastle Systems, a provider of mobile powered workplace solutions, named Derek Coppinger as vice president of sales and marketing.

“Along with his extensive career as a communicator, Coppinger brings key leadership capabilities to the table – motivation, direction and execution. All of which are crucial to successful company growth,” said John O’Kelly, CEO of Newcastle Systems.

Prior to joining Newcastle Systems, Coppinger was the senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer of National Technical Systems in Calabasas, California, and is a member of the board for ESC Lab Sciences and chairman of the board of American Council of Independent Laboratories. He holds a master’s degrees from Cranfield University, and attended MIT Sloan School of Management, and Boston University School of Law.

Coppinger was drawn to Newcastle Systems for its innovative product line and the impact its products have on the warehouse environment.

“My vision for Newcastle Systems is to provide customers with the world’s leading mobile powered workplace solution that helps significantly improve workflow processes,” Coppinger said. “The company is in a great position and has grown nicely over the past few years, but like any small business, we need to get to the next level, and I am excited to be a part of the journey.”

With new products set to launch this year, Coppinger will develop a world-class sales and marketing process with capabilities to help support all of Newcastle’s customer needs. In addition to Coppinger, Newcastle Systems has further grown its sales force with the addition three regional sales managers: Jared Parrish in Texas, Blake White in South Carolina, and Garrett Gronowski in California.
