Atlas Copco acquires two compressor makers
Atlas Copco’s U.S.-based Quincy Compressor has agreed to acquire the compressor business of National Pump & Compressor Ltd. and McKenzie Compressed Air Inc.
National Pump & Compressor is located in Texas and Alabama, while McKenzie Compressed Air is focused on Texas. In total the businesses to be acquired have about 120 employees, all of whom are expected to join Quincy Compressor.
The businesses are focused on distribution, service and rental of compressor-related equipment for use in such areas as manufacturing, construction, petrochemical, refinery and oil fields.
“The acquisitions will allow Quincy Compressor to further strengthen its presence in Texas, especially in the Gulf Coast region,” said Stephan Kuhn, president of Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area. “We will build on the great work done by National Pump & Compressor and McKenzie Compressed Air, and continue to bring high-quality products and service to our customers.”
The acquisitions are expected to close in the second quarter 2014.
