Tencarva Machinery acquires Saladin Pump

Tencarva Machinery Company acquired Saladin Pump & Equipment Co. Inc. of Beaumont, Texas, and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

"Saladin Pump is a long-time Goulds distributor and, in addition to the ITT companies, Saladin represents Xylem, John Crane, Warren-Rupp, Roper, Liquiflo and Prominent, as well as many other manufacturers," said Edwin W. Pearce III, Tencarva president.

John Saladin Jr., formerly Saladin Pump & Equipment Co. Inc. president, and son of founder John Saladin, will remain with the company for a transition period. All 16 full-time employees have become a part of the Tencarva team. Henry Ritchie, Tencarva vice president, is overseeing both the operations and sales activities for Saladin Pump & Equipment.

Saladin Pump & Equipment Co. Inc. was founded in December 1985 by John Saladin Sr. The core territory for Saladin Pump & Equipment includes Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton and Orange counties in Texas; and Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis parishes in Louisiana. The Saladin Pump & Equipment facility includes a shop for repair of pumps and other rotating equipment.

"When I made the decision to sell Saladin Pump & Equipment, I wanted to deal with a company that would treat our people right and would carry on our company's legacy in a positive way," said Saladin. "With 16 employees, we are like a family, and it was very important to me that our people would continue to be part of a good, well-run organization. Though Tencarva is much larger, our company cultures are a good fit with each other. I really believe that this will end up being positive for our customers, our vendors, our employees and Tencarva."

Tim Weber will continue as sales manager and Paul Gustafson as operations manager of Saladin Pump & Equipment.
