Driltec buys Heller Anchor Bore

Driltec LLC announced that it has acquired certain assets of Heller Anchor Bore, Shelby Township, Mich.

Driltec said it will continue to sell carbide tipped masonry and concrete drill bits, chisels and other associated items under the Heller Anchor Broe brand.

Heller Anchor Bore Co. began operations in 1983 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Heller, Bremen Germany. According to the company's Web site, Heller was known as the oldest hand tool manufacturer in Germany, tracing its history to 1580. In 1928, Heller developed the world's first carbide tipped masonry drill and a few years later expanded the use of carbide into the production of other cutting tools. In 1965 Heller developed technology to produce masonry drills suitable for both rotary and rotary impact applications. This is the same technology used today by others to produce masonry drills.
